UX Lead

The User Experience (UX) Lead is responsible for leading the creation, oversight, and support of multiple design workstreams for our most challenging and rewarding clients. This means collaborating with clients, internal partners, and their fellow designers to identify needs, plan research and design cycles, craft intuitive UX/UI solutions, and guide quality implementation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the way across multiple, simultaneous projects and clients, being the voice for your team
  • Work as an equal with our client services teams to plan, estimate, schedule, and deliver magic when time is tight
  • Create, defend, and own design artifacts including site maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and some visual design
  • Mentor and support your fellow designers to help them do their best work and grow their own careers
  • Move beyond opinion and into evidence by planning and executing user research such as interviews, contextual inquiries, and in-depth usability testing
  • Be the face of your team's designs by presenting directly to clients and guiding them through our collective thinking
  • Lead working sessions and workshops for discovery, design co-creation, and more
  • Help drive the direction by calling out opportunities to add more customer value
  • Engage regularly with customers to provide insights aligned to organizational use cases, key business challenges, and ways to improve digital experiences

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Design, Human-Computer Interaction or related field from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
  • In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 - meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa

Experience

  • Customarily has at least 8 years of job-related experience in a collaborative, cross functional team environment
  • Strong experience with creating user flow diagrams, wireframes, interactive prototypes and similar design deliverables
  • Experience in high-complexity environments such as large-enterprise applications or large-scale ecommerce, preferred

  • Proficiency in MS Office 365, Miro, Confluence and JIRA
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies, uses, and limitations, particularly HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • A solid track record of leading design initiatives via UX strategy, product management, or similar role.
  • A robust background of data-driven design decisions and supporting research work such as usability testing or journey mapping
  • Expert proficiency with Sketch, Balsamiq, Figma, Adobe XD, Miro, or similar design & collaboration tools
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating your end-to-end design process and strong project experience
  • An extreme obsession with detail and high-quality execution
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to deliver within tight deadlines and budgets
  • An eagerness to empathize with users.
