    Responsibilities

    A Day in the Life

    The System Engineer I, handles troubleshooting of server and workstation patch failures, software deployments, & antivirus management.  They are responsible for coordinating with clients, troubleshooting, and resolving tickets. Every Engineer is measured on completed tickets, resolution met, CSAT (customer satisfaction) and ticket utilization set forth by their direct manager.  You will be introduced to multiple systems, but not limited to, Autotask Endpoint Management (AEM) for patch and software deployments, Trend Micro for virus and malware monitoring and remediation, and Autotask for ticket management.

     

    The specific functions this job will include:

    • Patch failure remediation (Server & Workstation)
    • Antivirus management (including deployment, basic troubleshooting and remediation of issues)
    • Customer and internal coordination (patch schedules, troubleshooting downtime, etc..)

    Qualifications

    The Basics

    • Total Years of Technical Experience: 5+
    • Position Specific Experience: 2+
    • Project/ Client Engagement/ Customer Facing Experience: 5+

     

    Technical Aptitude

    • Ability to provide advanced end user support in an Enterprise environment.
    • Ability to support Windows Desktop & Server operating systems
    • Ability to interact with customers to schedule troubleshooting and downtime.
    • Advanced understanding of Windows Patching
    • Advanced understanding of antivirus software
    • Ability to handle initiating, tracking, and reporting on software deployments
    • Ability to run virus scans and report on outcome
    • Basic understanding of VMware

     

    Human Aptitude

    • Verbal Communication: Intermediate
    • Written Communication: Intermediate
    • Customer Service: Intermediate
    • Presentation Communication: Intermediate
    • Analytical/Problem Solving: Advanced

     

    Education & Certifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
    • Candidate must have one of the following or be willing to obtain within 6 months of employment: MCP, A+, Security+, Network+
