    Responsibilities

    A Day in the Life

    The Network Engineer II will deal with all aspects related to the maintenance, repair and support of networks and products to ensure continued operation and functionality of the network, systems and products.

     

    The ideal candidate will have the ability to be technically hands on providing high-quality technical support to customers at all levels, speaking with a high level of technical understanding, resolving complex technical problems and helping to proactively prevent new issues as it relates to Synoptek and their client’s IT infrastructures.

    Qualifications

    The Basics

    • Total Years of Technical Experience: 5+
    • Position Specific Experience: 3+
    • Mentorship/Leads by Example Experience: 3+
    • Project/ Client Engagement/ Customer Facing Experience: 2+

     

    Technical Aptitude

    • Detailed understanding of routing and switching in non-standard/ complex deployment environments
    • Proficient with multiple network technologies
    • Proficient Firewall/security experience (access control list (ACL) management, secure remote management practices, IDS, etc.
    • Strong working knowledge in access technologies such as LDAP, RADIUS,
    • TACACS

    Education, Certifications & More 

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
    • ITIL, CCNA Route/Switch + Additional CCNA or alternate vendor equivalent or + CCNA Security
    • Physically able to lift and carry object up from 0 to 50 pounds
