    Synoptek Product Development Analysts assist in the development of new products, analysis of existing products and ensuring Synoptek’s products and services are competitive and provide differentiation in the market. This position requires someone detail-oriented who enjoys working with all departments in the company to lead the adoption of new technical services.  The goal of this role is to improve our customers’ business by providing a full suite of outsourced managed services.

    Responsibilities

    Day-to-Day:

    • Work under the supervision of Vice President of Service Management to coordinate and execute product development activities
    • Adhere and promote company policies and procedures through intergroup interactions
    • Review existing products and services for technology, functionality and benefits to clients
    • Analyze existing products and services in the IT services and cloud marketplace based on technology, functionality competitive positioning and pricing
    • Assist in the development of new products and services for the IT services and cloud market
    • Ability to understand and calculate the pricing and margins of various complex products and services
    • Assist in client feedback sessions regarding the effectiveness and value of existing products and services
    • Provide technical engineering support to sales and client advisor staff
    • Establish milestone and objectives; completing product development projects within allotted budgets and timelines

    Market Analysis and Positioning:

    • Provide detailed analysis market landscape, industry trends, competitors, and client needs for various managed services offerings (help desk, hosting, backup, disaster recovery, security and more)
    • Develop product strategies based on market needs and competitive positioning
    • Develop product and service migration strategies for upsells and value-added services
    • Work with marketing to create and maintain client personas by industry, solution, and call points
    • Develop and evolve positioning, identifying key points of differentiation and market advantages
    • Conduct market research using qualitative and quantitative methods

     

    Product Messaging and Materials:

     

    • Develop product messaging and positioning based on value propositions and competitive advantages
    • Provide informed recommendations on product naming, pricing, margins, competitive positioning
    • Work with cross-functional teams to build effective go-to-market and product launch plans
    • Maintain expert knowledge on product development and launch procedures
    • Maintain product requirements, technical and functional documentations for reference purpose

     

    Sales & Marketing Support and Fluency:

     

    • Work with cross-functional teams to create an effective training curriculum to build fluency within our sales and marketing organization
    • Collaborate with sales enablement to build a well-defined plan to increase sales and increase efficiency and productivity throughout the sales funnel with the most important metric being distribution of attainment by function in sales
    • Work with suppliers and regional marketing teams to deliver quality products

     

    Service Delivery:

    • Coordinate with Sales and Operations in preparing product design documents and specifications
    • Maintain expert knowledge on product development procedures
    • Manage product certification process
    • Work closely with engineers to develop prototypes and analytical processes for products
    • Participate in quality assurance process

    Qualifications

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum 5 years' experience in the IT Consulting field
    • Experience performing project management
    • Excellent communication skills:
      • Impeccable follow up/through
      • Can take a position, make a case, and persuade others to follow suit
      • Superb written communication skills with ample evidence via white papers, documents, project plans, manuals, etc.
      • Great verbal skills demonstrating an ability to think on one's feet
    • Knowledge of:
      • Cloud/hosting technologies as well as an up-to-date understanding of the current players in our market space
      • What it takes to manage IT infrastructures
    • Bonus skills:  previous work experience in an IT Service Provider or IT Consulting Services
