    Responsibilities

    • We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager who comes from a systems, network, and operations engineering background. This role will be part of our Project Management Office and work to define the technical requirements and plans needed to implement value added solutions for our customers.
    • Effectively manage complex technical initiatives and environments such as Exchange migrations and/or Data Center migrations. Have the ability to interact with system, network, and data center engineers to plan, monitor, and control project initiatives.
    • Identifies, tracks, monitors and communicates project-related issues, scope changes, variances, and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of new capabilities. Facilitates amicable solutions with the appropriate stakeholder(s).
    • Works with various cross functional teams such as Service Desk, Engineering, Development, Data Center Operations, and Support Operations to develop project scope of work documents and project plans.
    • Uses project management skills to manage project roles, identify resource requirements, define project deliverables, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure quality of projects.
    • Ensures effective communications and relationships between customers and project team members are maintained.
    • Ensure project meets internal and Customer expectations with respect to quality, budget, delivery timelines, and strategy.
    • Evaluate all key project deliverables, as well as final product to ensure traceability of requirements, high quality and Customer acceptance.
    • Lead the team to prioritize signed off project work based on analysis of strategic importance, tasks outstanding, obstacles or barriers, budgets, resources, and deadlines.  Lead the team to scheduled out all contracted work and track internal resource workload through resource management.
    • Work to build a form of program management for the professional services group and their associated projects and consulting opportunitities.
    • The typical day of a Technical Project Manager will involve a few hours of internal and client conference call meetings, ad-hoc conversations with other teams to collaborate, as well as time heads down documenting project plans, risk mitigation strategies, and technical requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or closely related field.
    • 8+ years Project Management experience.
    • 8+ years technical experience in one or more aspects of Information Systems such as managing the implementation and support of various IT related projects (e.g. Exchange migrations, Citrix implementations, and data center migrations).

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Excellent communication and ability to interpret technical requirements to external partners and internal teams.
    • Considerable ability to give clear and consistent instructions to team members.
    • Considerable ability to develop, lead, motivate and supervise working cross functional teams.
    • Considerable problem solving and decision-making skills.

     

    Education:

    • BA/ BS required (Master’s Degree preferred).
    • 3-5 years of relevant work experience managing projects in the IT industry.
    • Municipality experience and local government experience required.
